Volunteering at the hospital is rewarding, fun and a wonderful way to make new friends. Volunteers receive free lunch on each day worked, 10% discount at the gift shop on days worked and 25% discount at the gift shop on monthly meeting days. Free parking is available in the employee lots on the south and west sides of the hospital. Transportation is available through NICE (North Idaho Community Express) for a nominal fee. Seniors ride for only a donation.

Volunteers donate thousands of hours each year in service to the hospital and community. In addition, the Auxiliary coordinates several annual fundraisers with proceeds going to Auxiliary education and attendance at regional meetings, employee education and hospital equipment.

Volunteers are asked to attend an initial orientation, pay $3 annual dues, give at least four hours of service per month, attend monthly meetings and complete an annual two-hour continuing education program. The dress code is a white top under an Auxiliary smock or vest and white, navy blue or black pants.
